9.45am TOPIC 1: Best Practice in governance of charitable organisations: what are the legal demands and limitations?
With nearly 60,000 charities in Australia and thousands of people working in paid employment and volunteers, this is an important sector. This sector is also known as civil society which makes a substantial contribution to the society. Therefore the importance of governance cannot be overlooked.

History and Role of JPs and the Challenges they face. There may be many JPs in our community. Yet many more wish to become a JP. There are onerous demands on JPs. There is always a temptation to do the wrong due to friendship and sometime ignorance of law and their implications. This is a free service to the community members.
